About Doom

This is a real compile of the original Doom engine — id Software released its full 1997 source code under the GPL-2.0 license, and this build compiles that same engine to WebAssembly so it runs directly in the browser, no plugin needed. The game content (levels, textures, sounds) comes from Freedoom, an independent open-source project built specifically to provide a completely free alternative to the original commercial game data. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by id Software, Bethesda, or ZeniMax.

How to play

Use the arrow keys to move, Ctrl to fire, Space to use doors/switches, and Enter/Esc to navigate menus. On touch devices, on-screen controls appear automatically. The first load downloads about 28MB of game data, so give it a moment.
